This Stewed Apple Yogurt Bowl is an easy way to switch up your usual yogurt bowl by adding in some comforting warmth. 

You all know we love yogurt bowls here at Nutrition Stripped, they’re so easy to individualize and switch up whenever you’re in need of a change! This particular Stewed Apple Yogurt Bowl was inspired by my love of yogurt bowls and my craving for comforting meals at this time of year. 

There’s nothing better than a warm breakfast bowl during these colder months! I always love my Stewed Apples with Warming Spices recipe, so why not make a yogurt bowl with it?

Using The Foundational Five To Create This Balanced Stewed Apple Yogurt Bowl

How To Make This Stewed Apple Yogurt Bowl

You can prep your stewed apples and nut butter in advance, then combine in a bowl with your yogurt of choice. Don’t forget to top with your favorite garnishes! 

Tips for Making This Stewed Apple Yogurt Bowl

There are a few tips you should keep in mind that will help you add versatility, and truly enjoy this recipe.

Switch things up

Not a fan of nut butter? Or maybe you prefer Greek Yogurt? That’s quite alright! The nuts and bolts are here, but feel free to switch things up to your liking.

You can replace the nut butter with a seed butter, or maybe just some nuts or seeds if the creamy texture isn’t your thing. And feel free to replace the plant-based yogurt or kefir with your yogurt of choice!

Store in a glass-tight container 

This Stewed Apple Yogurt Bowl is just as delicious on day 2! As long as you have an air-tight container to store it in, you can store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. 

How To Eat This Stewed Apple Yogurt Bowl 

I love having this yogurt bowl for breakfast. It’s especially perfect for those busy mornings when I simply want to open the fridge, throw everything together, and move on with my day! 

It’s especially great for those of you who meal prep and plan. Simply add these ingredients to your weekly shopping list, prep your Stewed Apples and Super Nut Butter ahead of time, and you’re ready to go for the week ahead! 

Foundational Five Balanced Meal Breakdown

Non-starchy Carbohydrate

  • Plant-based cultured yogurt 

Starchy or Carbohydrate

Protein

Fat

  • Super Nut Butter
  • Toasted Nuts
  • Flaxseed

Flavor Factor

  • Dark Chocolate
  • Cinnamon
  • Stewed Apples

The Recipe

Serves 1

Ingredients

1 cup plant-based cultured yogurt or kefir

¼ cup Stewed Apples with Warming Spices

2 tablespoons Super Nut Butter

Garnish with toasted nuts, cinnamon, dark chocolate, flaxseeds, or dried fruit of your choice.

Instructions

Step 1

If garnishing with toasted nuts, preheat oven to 350°. Arrange raw nuts of your choice on a rimmed baking sheet and roast until fragrant and golden brown, about 10 minutes. Allow to cool and roughly chop.

Step 2

Add yogurt to your favorite bowl, and top with Stewed Apples, a few dollops of Super Nut Butter and sprinkle with your garnishes of choice.
