Who doesn’t love a delicious salad that’s actually filled with flavor? They’re so easy to toss together on the fly or prepare in advance for ease throughout the week.

How To Make This Ultimate Satisfying Salad

First, toast your walnuts until golden brown. Next, lightly spread your dressing and assemble your kale and radicchio to your liking. Lastly, top with your apples and walnuts and enjoy! 

Tips For Making This Ultimate Satisfying Salad 

There are a couple of tips you should keep in mind that will help you store, add versatility, and enjoy this delicious nourish bowl.

Spread Your Dressing On The Plate

We traditionally think of dressings as toppers, right? Well this time, try something a bit different. When you’re arranging your ingredients intentionally on top, you can spread your dressing on the bottom of the plate to ensure every bite has a boost of your flavor factor! 

Prep Your Ingredients In Advance

Looking to speed up the prep time a bit? You can roast your walnuts and make your dressing at the beginning of the week when you meal prep. This will allow you to simply toss all of your ingredients together throughout the week and save you some time! 

FAQ About How To Make This Ultimate Satisfying Salad

What if I don’t like Dijon mustard?

Don’t sweat it! Dijon mustard isn’t for everyone, and that’s perfectly fine. Simply opt for your favorite Flavor Factor dressing instead, such as our Green Goddess Dressing!

Will almonds work well here?

Absolutely! You can make this recipe time and time again with different roasted nuts to keep it fresh and new. Or on the other hand, if you know you really love almonds instead of walnuts, feel free to roast and stick with those instead! 

Foundational Five Balanced Meal Breakdown

Non-starchy Carbohydrate

  • Radicchio

The Recipe

Serves 2



1 head radicchio, finely sliced

1 large bunch of kale, stems removed and roughly chopped

1 large granny smith apple, sliced

1 cup white beans

1/2 cup walnuts, lightly toasted

Drizzle of FF Honey Mustard Dressing to taste


Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°. Arrange walnuts on a rimmed baking sheet, and toast until fragrant and golden brown, about 10 minutes.

Step 2

On a large platter, evenly spread about 3 tablespoons of dressing on the plate. Arrange greens and radicchio and sprinkle apples and toasted walnuts. Drizzle more dressing to taste.
