Chamomile, also known as Matricaria recutita or German chamomile, is a flowering plant that’s commonly used in teas. It’s native to both Asia as well as Europe, but it’s currently grown all over the world. It has dark green leaves with white petals.

Chamomile teas have been associated with improved sleep, improved digestion as well as optimal blood sugar control (1, 2, 3). It’s often used as a pre-sleep ritual to help promote a calm, restful night of sleep. 

How To Use:

Chamomile is best and most commonly used in herbal teas. It can be steeped alone or mixed with other herbs to add a more complex flavor profile.
