Have an amazing day, today.

Sounds a little cliche and kitschy right? Truly, over the years after practicing and cultivating a solid Morning Routine, I’ve come to realize there are key “to-do’s” we all can do to manifest an amazing day. I shared with you earlier in the month about my birthday revelation and as we *cough*, as I, get older I think more about the beauty of life and how important it is to take time to truly balance and find your rhythm. I’m not claiming to be an expert in this realm of living well, but I will tell you what I’ve learned to do each day to make sure it’s the best and most productive it possibly can be. And that’s coming from a type A person who can easily burn themselves out working too much or going all-in in one area of my life and sacrificing the joys of others. I wanna share with you 5 ways I’ve learned to have an amazing day.

No. 1 Center Yourself

The Four Agreements is my jam. It’s a book based on the notion of having four promises that you make and keep with yourself. This short, simple, and inspiring read transformed my thinking about obligations, work, and balance as a whole. In a nutshell, the agreements are 1) I will be impeccable with my word, 2) I will not take things personally, 3) I will not make assumptions, and 4) I will try my best. They’re simple and straightforward but hold a heavyweight when you meditate on each of them. I hope these provide insight to transforming your mindset no matter what situation you’re in.

No. 2 Prime

I was inspired by Tony Robbins priming routine and dived into this concept that’s about priming your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual body all at the same time. My priming routine is based on positive affirmations, mantras, a set of breathing (meditation), and working out – merging the mental with physical. It’s helped me tremendously connect with myself and feel incredibly grateful and grounded, it’s the perfect setup for working each day and making sure I’m delivering content to you guys that I truly can stand behind.

No. 3 Nourish

This one goes without saying, but obviously what you put in your body with nutrition and food will directly impact your energy levels and how you feel physically and as a whole. Be sure to visit the recipe page with hundreds of free whole food based and 100% nourishing recipes!

No. 4 Move

Movement can instantly make you feel better, and just getting up and taking a walk outside while breathing in the fresh air can totally transform how you feel. Try getting in a routine with exercise and finding a workout or exercise program that you absolutely love, stick with it, and feeling amazing will naturally follow suit.

I have a question for you…

When was the last time you did something, anything, for the sake of pure fun? Not out of obligation, for work, for a favor, or to mark it off your to-do list, but purely to feel joy? If you’re having a hard time answering my question, I challenge you to write down 3 things that you find incredibly joyful and fun, look at your calendar, mark a day off, and DO THOSE THINGS! I have deep conversations with my friends all the time about this missing element in our lives, in nourishing our spirits and doing those things that make us really happy. Why is it when we’re “adulting” we forget about our inner child and forget to nourish that part of us? Trust me, I’m at fault for this too, but since I’ve called this out and am aware of it, I do things at least several times a week if not for a couple minutes a day that bring out pure joy in me. Lately, it’s been playing with Luna, kicking around the soccer ball with my love, laughing with friends, going out and having fun, painting, swimming, etc. Think about those things and do them!

Let’s Hear It

What are ways you feel awesome each day? What are the things you do to stay centered and at your best? Share and comment below, I’m sure there are so many others in the NS community that would appreciate your support and ideas!
