Happy weekend, guys! I hope you’re getting in time to do whatever fuels your body and your heart this weekend! Here’s the weekly recap of what articles I’ve been reading in the health and nutrition world and noteworthy news from the week so you can stay up to date, too. And if you see or read anything noteworthy from around the web, be sure to share with me and comment on this post so we can chat it up!

What you Should Know in Wellness

  • A new study links a diet with red meat to 9 different diseases (though white meat may be okay)
  • The relationship between Americans and cow’s milk is on a huge decline (if you drink real milk, go for organic milk from happy cows)
  • Speaking of…how vegan ice cream gets that creamy texture (it’s super scientific!)
  • Not quite news, but a really useful (and beautiful!) guide to salads from NYT Cooking

Comment of the week

Melanie said about the Gluten-Free Chocolate Zucchini Bread recipe…

I’m 25 weeks pregnant, and having been craving a good chocolate “something”! This really hit the spot and helped me to use up our abundance of zucchini from the garden. I cooked in a glass loaf pan so my cooking time was only 40 mins. I also didn’t see in the recipe where to add the vanilla so I added it to the wet mixture. I hope these tips help! Thanks for another great recipe NS!
